Reproductive Genetics

We believe that every person deserves the opportunity to start or grow their family. As a leading fertility clinic, we offer a wide range of cutting-edge treatments to help individuals and couples overcome fertility challenges and achieve their dreams of parenthood. In this section, we’ll explore the exciting field of reproductive genetics and how it can help optimize your chances of a successful pregnancy

Here are some key points about reproductive genetics and the fertility treatment process at Tathastu IVF:

  • Reproductive genetics is the study of how genes affect fertility, pregnancy, and the health of offspring.
  • Preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) is a technique used to screen embryos for genetic abnormalities before they are implanted in the uterus. This can help improve the chances of a successful pregnancy and reduce the risk of certain genetic disorders.
  • Carrier screening is a type of genetic testing that can identify whether an individual is a carrier for certain genetic disorders that may be passed on to their children. At Tathastu IVF, we offer carrier screening for a range of genetic disorders, including cystic fibrosis, sickle cell anemia, and Tay-Sachs disease.
  • Genetic counseling is an important part of the fertility treatment process, as it provides patients with information and support regarding their genetic risk factors and the potential implications for their future children.
  • In-vitro fertilization with donor eggs or sperm: In some cases, patients may choose to use donor eggs or sperm to achieve a successful pregnancy. At Tathastu IVF, we carefully screen all donors for genetic disorders and other risk factors to ensure the highest possible success rates and minimize the risk of genetic abnormalities in the resulting embryos.
  • Single gene testing may be recommended to identify specific genetic mutations that may be affecting a couple’s fertility or the chances of a successful pregnancy.

At Tathastu IVF, we offer genetic testing services that can make a significant difference for couples trying to have a family. Our comprehensive range of tests is designed to increase your chances of getting pregnant.

PGT-A – Preimplantation Genetic Testing – Aneuploidy: Done to identify chromosomal abnormalities in embryos before they are transferred to the uterus. This helps select embryos without abnormalities, improving pregnancy rates and reducing miscarriages.

PGT-M – Preimplantation Genetic Testing – Monogenic Done to test embryos for specific genetic disorders like Thalassemia and hemophilia. It allows couples with a family history of these disorders to have unaffected children. Only embryos without the disorders are transferred. Combining PGT-A and PGT-M further improves success rates.

We believe that knowledge is power, and we strive to empower our patients by providing them with the information and support they need to make informed decisions about their fertility journey.

If you’re considering fertility treatment, including reproductive genetics, we invite you to schedule a consultation with one of our fertility specialists to learn more about how we can help you achieve your dream of starting or growing your family.
