Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection

We offer a full range of fertility treatments to help couples achieve their dream of starting a family. In this section, we’ll discuss Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), an advanced technique we use to overcome male infertility.

ICSI is a procedure in which a single sperm is injected directly into the center of an egg. This process bypasses natural fertilization and allows for the successful fertilization of an egg that may not have been possible otherwise.

At Tathastu IVF, we use ICSI as part of our comprehensive approach to treating male infertility. Some of the key benefits of ICSI include:

  • Increased chances of fertilization: ICSI can help overcome fertility issues that may prevent natural fertilization from occurring.
  • Improved embryo quality: By selecting the best sperm for fertilization, ICSI can result in higher-quality embryos, which can increase the chances of a successful pregnancy.
  • Reduced risk of genetic disorders: ICSI allows us to perform pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), which can detect certain genetic disorders before the embryo is implanted in the uterus.

The ICSI process typically involves the following steps:

  • Egg retrieval: Similar to the IVF process, the woman undergoes hormone therapy to stimulate egg production, and the eggs are retrieved from the ovaries.
  • Sperm retrieval: In cases of male infertility, sperm may be retrieved via a procedure called testicular sperm extraction (TESE) or percutaneous epididymal sperm aspiration (PESA).
  • Sperm injection: Using a specialized micropipette, a single sperm is injected into the center of each egg.
  • Embryo transfer: After fertilization, the resulting embryos are transferred to the woman’s uterus, where they may implant and develop into a pregnancy.

At Tathastu IVF, we have a team of highly skilled and experienced fertility specialists who are trained in the latest ICSI techniques. Our state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and advanced technology ensure the highest possible success rates for our ICSI patients.

If you’re struggling with male infertility, ICSI may be an option for you. We invite you to schedule a consultation with one of our fertility specialists to learn more about ICSI and how it may help you achieve your dream of starting or growing your family.
